Community Health and Sustainability

Center for Climate Equity and Resilience

Community Health and Sustainability means finding a balance between human communities and nature in order to meet current needs while preserving resources for the benefit of future generations.

The Climate Center @ SDSU is dedicated to improving quality of life in our region through community-based projects that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Connecting People, Planet, and Prosperity

Seeking a balance for future generations

Prioritizing the interconnectedness of people, the planet, and prosperity in the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom.

Why it Matters

Quality of life and sustainability improvements in local communities must be conceived of and implemented by local communities to realize transformative and lasting solutions to their sustainability challenges.

The Center has established a range of non-traditional partnerships pairing students and communities to innovate cross-disciplinary solutions that address these challenges.

The Sage Project and the Center for Regional Sustainability at SDSU provide students and community members opportunities to share knowledge, skills, and creativity in meaningful partnership. These partnerships forge sustainable relationships and real-world solutions to pressing community problems.
